The WASH Rotary Action Group Operations Team coordinates the many activities of the organization. 
 
Cadre Technical Advisor, Wade Nomura, has joined the Operations Team to share information and resources on Global Grants.
 
 We interviewed Wade to learn more about him, understand what is a Cadre, and what he will provide to the Operations Team.

What is your Rotary Club?

How long have you been a Cadre Technical Advisor?
I have been a Cadre Technical Advisor since 2009 in Water Sanitation and Hygiene, and Community and Economic Development
               
What does a Cadre do?
Cadres are project technical advisors certified by The Rotary Foundation to evaluate, advise and review Global Grant projects.

Why did you apply for this position?
I have been working to create an organizational partnership with the Rotary Action Groups and The Rotary Foundation Cadres for over four years now and am extremely pleased to be a part of this.

What is your role with the Operations Team?
I will be serving on the Operations Team to share information and resources on Global Grants and also hope to engage members of this Rotary Action Group as technical advisors for projects.
 
Tell me about yourself?
I have been a member of Rotary for 19 years and have been involved with 200 Rotary projects in many areas of the world. I am currently serving as the Rotary Foundation’s Technical Coordinator Chair of Cadres in Water, Sanitation and Hygiene, the North American and English speaking countries of Central and South America Organizer of Cadres in all Areas of Focus, and a member of the Long Range Planning Committee for Cadres.
 
I also serve as the Global Grants Chair for Haiti HANWASH, Rotary Action Group for WASH Webinars and Summit Committee, and Chair of the Multidistrict PETS Alliance. Locally, I serve as the Mayor of the City of Carpinteria.
